History
The Cheetoh was created by crossing Bengals with Ocicats, aiming for the spotted coat with a steadier temperament. It is one of the newest and smallest breeds in this directory, and the number of active catteries has been falling rather than rising.
Living with one
Generally described as calmer than a Bengal while keeping the size and the pattern. Sociable and tolerant of handling.

What the F-number actually means
Cheetohs descend from the Asian leopard cat (via Bengal). The generation counts how many steps removed a cat is from that ancestor — F1 is the first cross, and each number after it is one more generation of domestic breeding.
